Southern Maine is comprised of many diverse communities--some well known Southern Maine towns, like Ogunquit Maine and Kennebunkport Maine, and others with rich local history, such as Sanford Maine, and the Berwicks.

Although tourism is the mainstay of many Southern Maine coast communities, a trip to Cape Porpoise, Wells Harbor, or Perkins Cove, in Southern Maine will find many working fishing and lobster boats.

Some of the best beaches in Maine can be found in Southern Maine. Long Sands Beach in York is always a favorite spot, but Biddeford Pool and Ferry Beach in Saco are local Southern Maine favorites as well.
